Riding 101

The Southern Oregon No. 1 H.O.G. Chapter's motto is to ride and have fun.  We want to make each and every ride a great experience for everyone who participates.

Please read the following information.

We realize that alot of people are very experienced riders and won't need this information.  This information is for the rest of us who can always use these tips.

GROUP RIDING  Hand Riding Signals

Release forms for both adult and minor nonmember riders need to be submitted before you can ride with our chapter. Click here to download the necessary release form, print it out, and bring it with you to the ride to save yourself some time. You can't ride with us if we don't have these forms. No exceptions!

Please be prepared to ride (no last minute potty breaks, needing gas, etc).  We ask all of our riders to come ready to roll and to be there at least a half hour before we plan on leaving.  For everyone's safety, you must be present for the Road Captain's pre-ride meeting to ride with us.

There's a gas station just down the block from D&S at the corner of Hwy 99 and Fern Valley Road. You don't want to be on a ride with a partially full gas tank worrying about when we're going to stop for gas!

The Road captains need a little time to make sure everyone is ready to ride.  Please be sure your bike is in a safe, legal operating condition.  The road captains take the half hour before each ride to conduct a pre-ride meeting.  You should make it a point to be here.  They will explain the group riding procedures, hand signals, etc.

Please don't be ashamed at this time to point out your riding abilities.  Are you a new rider?  Do you ride a little slower and prefer to be in the back of the group?  You won't be made fun of or humiliated.  We would rather have you admit this at first than take a chance of your or someone else getting hurt.

Thanks to the Sunset H.O.G. Chapter in Tigard, Oregon for allowing us to link to their riding formations page! Also, thanks to the Salem HOG chapter for the great hand signal animations.

From You!  Just
